1. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 

 

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the effective leadership and financial management of the company. The goal will be to ensure the long-term profitability of the company and to drive sustainable development and long-term success.

 

Reporting structure

This position reports directly to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Provide strategic leadership and direction

• Develop and maintain company goals to operate to the highest standards and maintenance of a satisfactory competitive position within the mining industry.

• Contribute to company expansion, support existing projects and implementing new ones

• Review performance reports to determine profitability of projects.

• Assess and manage the critical risks of the business within operations

• Development and approval of annual budgets and targets.

• Ensure Legal, Regulatory compliance and Governance

• To communicate effectively with shareholders, employees, Government authorities, other stakeholders and the public as the company representative.

• Ensure that managers create effective workforce plans and recruitment demands plans for their areas

Minimum Experience

 

• Min (10+) Experience in the mining industry or related industry of which minimum (5) should have been in Senior / Executive management position.

• In-depth knowledge of mining industry, practices and standard.

• Bachelor’s Degree or similar

• Qualification in Mining will be a distinct advantage

• Post graduate qualification will be a distinct advantage

2. SITE MANAGER

 

This position will be responsible for the planning, execution, manage and lead a team of people on site.

 

Reporting structure

 

This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met and reviewing progress.

• Day to day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget and quality constraints.

• Regular monitoring and liaison with the client(s) on the Master Programme and development of stage/section programmes as required.

• Liaise with the client(s) to ensure adequate labour and sub-contract resource is available on site utilising the agreed agency list.

• Supervise, manage and motivate all site team including effective management of sub-contractor activities on site ensuring they are engaged, on target in line with the master programme.

• Ensure the team and sub-contractors are following common operational standards.

• Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company’s Site Waste Plan

• Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with regulations.

• Continually develop knowledge of innovative mining techniques and products to enhance the company.

• Prepare and implement operational plans for the mine, and monitor and report progress

• Propose capital expenditure projects to expand capacity or improve operations

• Recognize and anticipate operational, technical and safety challenges, take action to prevent or overcome them, and seek continuous improvement

• Contribute to business planning and company strategy to improve competitiveness, profitability and growth

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mining Engineering

• 5 years’ experience at Section Manager / Mine Overseer level, preferably within an Open pit mining environment

• Valid surface mining Blasting Ticket will be an advantage

• Valid drivers’ license

• Open pit mining experience essential

• Postgraduate or Maters’ degree in relevant discipline will be an advantage.

• First AID certificate.

• Should have a valid Police Clearance certificate before issuing employment contract.

3. HME SENIOR FOREMAN - KARIBIB

 

 

Reporting structure

 

These positions will report directly to the Site Manager

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Lead the workshop maintenance team

• Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the workshop functions and ensure compliance

• Ensure adherence with the organisation's code of conduct and business ethics

• Must have knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment

• Must understand the safety aspects associated with the usage of flammable energy sources

• Plant Improvement & Optimisation

• Must have knowledge of diagnostic systems.

• Should demonstrate an understanding of the identification, inspecting, safe use, maintenance and care for engineering tools

• Apply safety, health and environment principles and procedures in a workplace

• Must be able to explain and apply quality control procedures

• Apply the skills of customer care in the workplace

• Computer literacy is a must.

• Facilitate meetings or workshops effectively to achieve organizational outcomes

• Should have the ability to apply the principles of problem identification, analysis and decision making timeously

• Apply basic principles and best practices of team effectiveness

• Demonstrate knowledge and operation of mechanical and electrical systems

• Apply basic human resource principles and best practices in the workplace

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

a. Must have a National Trade Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

b. At least 5 years’ experience in a related role

c. 3 years should be at a supervisory level or experience in a function

d. Have good mechanical, auto electrical and air conditioning troubleshooting skills

e. Should have a valid Police Clearance certificate before issuing employment contract.

4. MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

 

This position will oversee accounting procedures and prepare forecasts, budgets and risk analysis. It will assume responsibility of cost accounting and financial accounting tasks.

 

 

Reporting structure

 

This position will report directly to the Finance Manager

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Gather and analyze financial information for internal use

• Support budgeting and funding

• Evaluate the company’s performance using key data

• Make forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making

• Conduct risk assessment and advise on ways to minimize risk

• Advise on cost optimization opportunities and suggest improvements

• Supervise personnel within the department

• Oversee and manage the cost account and financial account functions

 

 

Requirements:

 

• BSc/BA/BCom  in accounting / finance

• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CGMA) will be preferred

• Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or similar role

• Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices

• Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting

• Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting

• Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• A problem-solver with attention to detail

This position manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office.

This position will report directly to the Human Resource Manager

6. Procurement Officer - Karibib

 

Main Purpose of the job:

 

To execute the purchasing functions and processes with an efficient clerical, data and document processing control service and to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services to the site.

 

 

Reporting structure

 

This position will report directly to the Site Manager

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Perform routine procurement duties in line with prescribed policies & procedures

• Maintain communication with suppliers and end-users about order status, changes or cancellations.

• Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance

• Notify management of contract problems as they arise

• Monitors accounts in order to ensure payments are up to date

• Assist staff with queries and problems with procurement systems and processes,

• Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information.

• Perform material inventory and facilitate distribution as assigned

 

Requirements:

 

• Grade 12 with a diploma or degree in Procurement or Logistics/ in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.

• Minimum 3-years’ experience in procurement environment.

• Experience in the mining industry, will be an added advantage

• Sound experience in customer and supplier relations.

• Code B Driver’s License will be an advantage.

• Should have a valid Police Clearance certificate before issuing employment contract.

 

 

7. MAINTENANCE PLANNER - KARIBIB

 

Responsible for the long term and short-term strategic planning in the Maintenance department in terms of planning, resourcing, scheduling and co-ordination of all maintenance work and enhancing equipment reliability, through the most cost-effective methods available by minimizing risk and rework, as well as maintaining the HME Engineering KPI report, data capturing and distribution.

 

 

Reporting structure

 

These positions will report directly to the HME Senior Foreman

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Determine and monitor labour capacity in order to develop fortnightly work plans to maximise resource utilisation

• Establish and maintain sound long- and short-term maintenance plans and practices.

• Perform work order and preventative schedule consolidation and distribution

• Coordinate daily as well as weekly planning meetings related with maintenance

• Compile weekly master schedule for planned work

• Maintain weekly planning boards and comply to the plan

• Maintain workshop backlog and awaiting spares planning boards for job loading purposes

• Maintain and update a filling system for all maintenance and/or component control documentation

• Update spreadsheets and graphs to reflect KPI’s and statistics

• Daily reporting on overdue scheduled service and/or non-compliance to maintenance procedures

• Capturing of planned maintenance job cards

• Follow up and solve queries related to job cards

• Provide technical assistance for supporting entire on-site maintenance activities.

• Estimate costs, including labor, materials, and contract services, for each work order.

• Monitor and co-ordinate warranty claims with service providers and suppliers.

• Ensure compliance to all EVS and Client’s, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures

• Other duties not listed herein, but which need to be accomplished to maintain safe and productive day-to-day operations within the workshop.

 

 

Requirements:

 

• A diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

• Minimum 3 Years’ experience as Technician in a mining maintenance and/or planning related environment

• Must be proficient in MS Words, Excel and with integrated maintenance systems/ software’s.

• Solid understanding of open pit mining practices and equipment capabilities

• Solid working knowledge of mining procedures

• Valid driver’s License

• Should have a valid Police Clearance certificate before issuing employment contract.

8.ASSISTANT HME MECHANIC - KARIBIB

 

Assist with repairs, maintenance, inspections, and installation of machinery and parts. Completes diagnostic tests using manual tools and technological devices.

 

 

Reporting structure

 

This position will report directly to HME Mechanic

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Assists mechanics with repairing and maintenance of equipment;

• Responsible for housekeeping in the workshop

• Performs safety inspections equipment.

• Reports on work orders/requests, possible causes; estimated life span of components/parts, spares used, time taken and makes recommendations and suggestion to improve efficiency.

• Assist with planned and unplanned maintenance tasks within set time limits

• Assist with diagnosing electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on HME Equipment

• Perform standby duties on a regular basis or as required

• Attend monthly safety meetings

• Perform other duties as required by the Maintenance Coordinator.

• Ensure compliance to all EVS and Client’s, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures

 

 

Requirements:

 

• Grade 12 plus recognized Mechanic Trade Diploma/Certificate

• 1-3 Years of experience as maintenance mechanic of heavy equipment in the mining or construction environment is required

• Previous maintenance experience on the following earth moving equipment would be an advantage - Komatsu, Bell, CAT, and Atlas Copco Drills

• Must be familiar with all safety requirements and standard operating procedures for the mine operation.

• Strong mechanical experience

• Valid Driver’s license

• Should have a valid Police Clearance certificate before issuing employment contract.

Repairs, maintains, inspects, and installs electrical components on various equipment.

 

 

Reporting structure

 

This position will report directly to the Senior HME Foreman

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Quality work on repairs and maintenance of all equipment on site.

• Ability to install and troubleshoot electrical systems

• Perform diagnostic on electrical systems of equipment’s

• Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical wiring.

• Ensure compliance to all EVS, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

 

Requirements:

 

• Grade 12

• Trade qualification in Auto Electrical

• 3 years minimum experience

• Previous maintenance experience on the following earth moving equipment would be an advantage -  Komatsu, Bell, CAT, and Atlas Copco Drills.
